ESENSEE was very active during the last European SME Week. European SME Week 2011 - 3 to 9 October - aims to: (1) provide information on what the EU and national, regional and local authorities are offering as support to micro, small and medium-sized businesses; (2) promote entrepreneurship so that more people, and in particular younger ones, seriously consider becoming an entrepreneur as a career option; (3) give recognition to entrepreneurs for their contribution to Europe's welfare, jobs, innovation and competitiveness.Firstly, ESENSEE was actively participating at the event in Dubrovnik organized by UMIS/SMEA - Croatia and WUSME - World Union of SMEs from 6-7 October 2011. High Level Round Table Discussion with the title „Micro Companies Can Make the Difference - Smart + Inclusive + Sustainable Growth“ was held under high Patronage of the President of the Republic of Croatia, patronage of the Mayor of the Town of Dubrovnik and was supported by the European Commission. The event got together stakeholders from all over the world to discuss how SMEs that make more than 99% of all enterprises in Europe can contribute to the vision of smart, inclusive and sustainable growth. The issues were inspiredly discussed in three panels dealing with innovation, social and economic inclusion and sustainability with participants from Europe, India and USA providing their insights on the challenges and possible solutions to each of the discussed issues. ESENSEE with its objectives and activities appears to have many answers to the questions and issues posed, including its Academy, Incubator and Networking with Clusterisation concepts. Hence, more of the interaction among ESENSEE and SMEs sector is to be expected in the future.
